Each page shows the rule set it uses, its official source and the date we last checked it. Stamp duty bands are kept per nation and per tax year.
The mortgage arithmetic is a standard repayment mortgage at one rate for the whole term. Stamp duty uses the current Stamp Duty Land Tax, Land and Buildings Transaction Tax and Land Transaction Tax bands from GOV.UK, Revenue Scotland and the Welsh Revenue Authority. Local rents and prices on home pages come from the Office for National Statistics and HM Land Registry and are shown on each location's prices and rents page.
The figures are illustrations from the inputs you give and the rules shown, not financial, tax or legal advice. Check them with a mortgage adviser or conveyancer before you rely on them. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage secured on it.
